World Record Attempts

So it's time for us to release a bit more information about our Guinness World Record (GWR) attempts! We had multiple teams attempting to break the World Record for the most goals scored in 60 minutes and the most goals scored in 3 minutes! The first record was the most goals scored in 60 minutes, which currently stands at 1105, and was broken by Trinity Netball Club back in 2021. I am very pleased to report that this record was broken by one of our teams, who scored 1,564 legal goals in 60 minutes! The most goals scored in 3 minutes was a new record, which we were successful in applying for, and we will be submitting our entry of 97 goals for that record. Ella Woods The applications for these records will be made in the name of the Ashby Netball Marathon, listing all participants and officials as World Record breakers! One of our participants also attempted the record for the most goals scored by an individual, for which the current WR is 40 goals held by Suzanne Hobson in North Yorkshire. We are delighted to say that Imogen Talbot of Ashby Netball Club broke this World Record with an astonishing score of 49 goals in just one minute, scoring on average 1 goal every 0.8 seconds. These GWR now need to be submitted and verified, which can take a few months, before we can officially say that we are GWR holders, but for now we are Record Breakers! Thank you to everyone who took part in this part of our challenge, and to have broken three Guinness World Records, whilst playing netball continuously for 75 hours, really does show the magnitude of our achievement.
